Although Google AdSense is not the only advertising service that allows you to make money from your blog, it is the service you have probably heard of. But how much you earn is personal and anything not simple.
You didn't start blogging to make extra money, but now you have a great following. Why not make money from your passion project?
What is Google Adsense?
Google AdSense is an advertising program that you can use to earn money from content such as blogs, websites, or YouTube videos. Customers pay to advertise through it, and you get a portion of that revenue by hosting ads on your site or channel. Signing up for AdSense is free.
How does AdSense work
First, Google Adsense has to approve your website. Google does not disclose its metrics for approval. But if your site has unique content and adheres to the AdSense policies, you are good at applying it. You must be at least 18 years old.
Once you get approval, you can arrange the ads to appear on your site. You can choose what types of ads are shown and where they appear on the page. But the companies that appear on your site make offers to get their right to be there.

AdSense allows its advertisers to compete for space on your website based on your content, as well as how likely they are to get clicks on their ads from visitors. Google determines the latter by an advertiser's Quality Score. There are two factors at play here. One is click-through rate, or click-through rate. This is the percentage of visitors to your site that Google thinks will click on ads.
The other is a set of what Google calls "factors that affect the quality of a user's experience from viewing an ad". Google doesn't say what it is, but according to its help site, ad relevance and landing page experience are key.
How much is the profit on Adsense?
Advertisers look at the above items and estimate what is called CPC. This is the amount they will pay each time someone clicks on an ad from your site.
Think of your website as a landscape drawing you've put up for auction. The auction house agreed to put it up for auction on landscape painting collectors. The higher the quality of the board, the more competition, and the more money you will get.
Since Google doesn't release all the metrics you use, it's hard to predict how much you'll actually earn. But as a hypothetical example, let's say you get 2,000 views on your site per month, and 1.5% of those people click on the ad - that's 30 clicks. If an advertiser bids 75 cents per click, you'll see up to $22.50 for the month.
