Authorities are searching for several shooters Sunday after a shooting in Sacramento that left at least 6 people dead and 12 injured set off a chaotic scene in a crowded downtown area.

Police Chief Cathy Lister said officers who arrived at the scene around 2 a.m. Sunday found bodies in the street amid a large crowd of people gathered in the area. Police initially reported many casualties after the attack, not far from the state capitol building, where they delved into the massacre and counted the casualties.
Lister said in an interview on Sunday afternoon that there was a lot of fighting just before the shooting. She said Sacramento police confirmed the presence of multiple shooters, and found hundreds of evidence at the scene, including a stolen pistol.
